Serbian 101 · A1
Nine lessons, in the order I teach them — from the alphabet to your first grammatical case. Every one has something to play, not only something to read.
Nothing puts a beginner off Serbian faster than being handed all seven cases in week one. So this level does the opposite: it builds a small stock of words you can say out loud, and lets the grammar arrive only when there's something to use it on. By the ninth lesson you'll have met one case by name — and you'll already have been using it since lesson one.
The order below is deliberate. The alphabet comes first because Serbian spelling is honest: one letter, one sound, so once you can read it you can pronounce anything. Greetings come next because you can use them the same day. The three grammar lessons sit at the end, when there are finally enough words to build sentences with.
Games are not a reward here, they're the practice. Each lesson ends with a Wordwall round, one of my own browser games, or a worksheet to print — whichever suits the material.
